Keratex Hoof Putty is world renowned with farriers, veterinarians and horse owners for its unique properties and benefits. It is important to understand what it is designed for, and what it is not intended to be used for.
It is ideal for filling holes like the cavities left after an abscess, white line and horn separation problems. It is not designed to replace load bearing missing horn, as it is a soft wax and will not provide structural support.
It can be difficult to work with, and will need to be scrapped out of the can with a sharp object before being worked between your fingers or in the palm of your hand to help warm and soften it.
How long it stays in will depend on the where it is used, and how much surface area of the hoof the putty has to adhere to.
